Attorney Bernadette Gonzales of Wheat Ridge, CO; cheating loser

The State of Colorado provided Bernadette Teresa Gonzales with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Bernadette guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to return unearned fees (cheater)
• Failed to return client papers to client upon termination
• Improperly accepted compensation for representing client from someone other than the client without obtaining prior client consent
• Failed to protect client interests upon termination
• Failed to inform a client in writing about the lawyer’s fees and expenses within a reasonable time after being retained
• Failed to provide client with written fee agreement in divorce matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Bernadette by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 90-day suspension of her law license.
