Attorney Christopher Griffin of Westminster, CO; cheating drunk

The state of Colorado presented Christopher L. Griffin with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep required financial records
  • Neglected to provide any fee agreement to the client
  • Failed to adequately communicate with his client about the case
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Mistakenly treated $500 belonging to his client as earned and deposited that money into his operating account
  • Failed again to provide a written statement explaining his fee
  • Client fired Chris and demanded a refund
  • Over a period of months, Chris disregarded client’s multiple requests for an update
  • Provided no benefit or legal service to the client, who had to pay for a new lawyer
  • Arrested and pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Failed to maintain trust account records
  • Failed to protect a client’s interests upon termination of the representation
  • Failed to return unearned fees [cheater]

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak, (ca. April 2019), Chris practices at 12207 Pecos Street in Westminster, Colorado.
