Attorney Joseph Coleman of Grand Junction, CO; ethical dwarf

The state of Colorado provided Joseph C. Coleman with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The Colorado State Bar found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter,Joey and his firm obtained an interest in properties in which his clients also had an interest.

At least one of the properties was the subject of ongoing litigation in which Joey was representing the clients. Joey and his clients formed a partnership agreement with respect to one of the properties, but Joey did not provide timely written disclosure of the terms of the partnership.

In another matter,Joey did not cease his representation of a limited liability company (LLC) with which he had a conflict of interest, nor did he disclose the conflicts and potential conflicts inherent in his representation of the LLC.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 45-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Joey practices Joseph Coleman & Associates LLC at 2454 Patterson Road in Grand Junction, Colorado.
