Attorney Barbara Zorr of San Rafael, CA; lying misfit

The state of California provided Barbara Truman Zorr with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the University of Texas Law School,

The California Bar Court found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to provide competent legal services (Dumbo)
  2. Failed to respond to status inquires from clients
  3. Failed to return client files to clients after she was fired
  4. Misrepresented (lied) to client about status of client’s case
In one matter, two clients hired Barbara to seek recourse for defects in a home they purchased. Barbara’s attempts to settle the matter were unsuccessful and her clients asked her to file a lawsuit. The client’s paid Barbara $3,500 in advanced fees in addition to more than $2,200 they paid her earlier.

Barbara never filed the lawsuit but prepared a sham “status report” for the clients containing fabricated documents, including a phony case number and the name of an attorney who supposedly represented the defendant. The clients then fired Barbara, and through their new attorney reached a settlement with her, but she never made any payments to them. They then won a small claims judgment against Barbara for $5,000.

In another matter, Barbara failed to rescind a social security penalty assessed against he client. Barbara then refused to return her client’s calls and failed to promptly return the client’s file after she was fired.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California Bar Court punished Robert by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 60-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Barbara continues to practice in the San Rafael, California area.
