Attorney Jose J. Alvarez of Oakland, CA; ethical leper-con 
The state of California provided Jose Jess Alvarez with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley Law School.
The California Bar Court found Jose guilty of five (5) counts of misconduct involving at least two client matters, which are as follows.
In one matter Jose found it acceptable to screw a Spanish-speaking client who hired him to obtain a court order releasing a lien on her home. Jose had her sign a fee agreement written in English that required the client to engage in mandatory fee arbitration if she ever disputed his fees. He also had her sign a promissory note securing his fee, requiring her to pay $300 a month and to pay him $5,000 a year whether or not she wished to fire him. Jose’s note waived any protest to his fees and was secured by her home.
It was proven by the Bar Court that Jose did no sustentative work for the client who later hired a paralegal to perform the work Jose failed to do.
In a divorce matter in which Alvarez represented the husband, he again had his Spanish-speaking client sign a fee agreement and a promissory note whose terms were not explained. The note was for $8,500. The client’s consent was not informed.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California Bar Court punished Jose by gifting him with a stayed 24-month suspension of his law license. In actuality, the comedians sitting on the Bar Court didn’t punish Jose in any meaningful manner.
If the morons sitting on the Bar Court and/or Calfiornia Supreme Court really gave a damn about protecting the citizens of Calfiornia from crooked lawyers, they would have permanently disbarred Jose. Apparently, they believe that Jose has an absolute right to earn a dishonest living as an attorney!
