Attorney Vincent DiFiglia of San Diego; ethical elf, cheap whore

From 1987 through 2003, DiFiglia sat as a judge on the Superior Court in San Diego. Of course he received his underserved appointment after spending years carrying water as a compliant lackey for the political hacks in the greater San Diego area.

In 2007, the California Judicial Commission found DiFiglia guilty of the following misconduct.

In 1999, the case of Border Business Park, Inc., vs. the City of San Diego was assigned to the Dishonorable Vincent DiFiglia.

In April 2000, attorney Vincent Bartolotta signed on as co-counsel for the plaintiff, and represented the plaintiff at the jury trial conducted by Judge DiFiglia in late 2000. Before the case went to the jury, DiFiglia decided a pivotal legal issue in the case—inversed condemnation liability—in favor of the plaintiff. Subsequently, the jury returned a verdict of $94.5 million in favor of the plaintiff.

At no time prior to or during the trial did DiFiglia disclose on the record any relationship he had with attorney Bartolotta.

There was no dispute that Judge DiFiglia had a long-term personal relationship with Bartolotta. In fact, in 1992 he received a private admonishment from the Commission for accepting multiple golf outings paid for by Bartolotta and/or his partners. Additionally, they met for drinks numerous times and on at least one occasion DiFiglia attended a Christmas Eve party at Bartolotta’s home.

Even more egregious was DiFiglia’s conduct during the trial in the Border case, when he escorted one of Bartolotta’s secretaries to a Christmas Party. What a guy!

DiFiglia’s Present Occupation

As we speak (ca. Feb 2011) DiFiglia pimps his services as a Mediator, Arbitrator and Private Judge for some outfit called Judicate West.

Of course his hyperbolic (BS) resume on Judicate West’s web site makes absolutely no mention that he was disciplined as set forth above.

I’m sure that Ol’ Vinny can be relied on to render a favorable decision as a so-called Private Judge if the Price is Right. Just to be on the safe side y’all might want to consider a few golf outings at Pebble Beach, which of course you’ll have to pay for. Good luck Boyz and Girls!
