► Attorney Rafael Gallego of Tucson; serial offender |
Attorney Rafael Gallego of Tucson; serial offender The state of Arizona presented Rafael F. Gallego with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.
The Arizona State Bar found Rafael guilty of the following misconduct.
In on matter, Rafael represented a client charged with first-degree murder. The client was convicted and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
The client then retained another attorney to determine if a petition for post-conviction relief might be successful. In his review of the records, the attorney spoke with several of Rafael’s former employees and was told that Rafael was using illegal drugs prior to and during the trial. When confronted with the accusations by the State Bar, Rafael ultimately admitted to the drug use thereby rendering ineffective assistance of counsel to this then client (victim).
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Rafael by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. July 2013) Rafael practices at1200 East Ajo Way in Tucson, Arizona.
