Attorney Jay Bloom of Phoenix; ethical elf

The state of Arizona presented Jay R. Bloom with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Jay guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

In one matter, Jay was hired to represent a client in a dissolution matter. The trial court awarded one of the marital vehicles to the ex-husband as his sole and separate property. The court also ordered that both parties cooperate to get the vehicle titled in the names of the parties awarded each vehicle.

The client’s ex-husband had possession of the vehicle. The client had possession of the vehicle title and gave it to Mr. Bloom with instructions to hold onto it until child-support issues were resolved. Jay failed to release the vehicle title until he was specifically ordered to do so by the court.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jay by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Jay practices with Katz and Bloom PLC at 2800 North Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.

Warning: Jay doesn’t carry legal malpractice insurance
