Attorney Geoffrey McGrath of Anchorage, AK; dimwitted cheater

The state of Alaska provided Geoffrey J. McGrath with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Geoffrey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Acted negligently or with gross negligence
  • Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
  • Ignored clients' efforts to contact him
  • Impeded communication by providing addresses of a house where he no longer lived and an office where he no longer worked
  • Collected unreasonable fees (cheater)
  • Settled a claim without client authority
  • Failed to recognize that providing financial support to his client created a conflict of interest
  • Knowingly failed to pay medical providers in accordance with his client's directive
  • Failed to account promptly to clients for client money
  • Ignored the Workers' Compensation Board's order to reimburse attorney fees to his client within 30 days
  • Delayed reimbursing his client the settlement money that he kept after cashing the settlement check

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Geoffrey by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Geoffrey practices his so-called brand of law at 5889 Kennyhill Drive in Anchorage, Alaska.
