Attorney Tracie Tawana of Dothan, AL; ethical goblin

The state of Alabama presented Tracie Tawana with a law license in 2004 after she graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Tracie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to cross examine or call additional witnesses on client’s behalf
  • Client’s case was dismissed for failure of proof
  • Falsely accused judge of dismissing her client’s case in retaliation
  • Posted derogatory and untruthful statements about the judge and the dismissal incident in his courtroom on social media
  • Failed to comply with court order that she end her cellphone call (Screw you, said Tracie!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Tracie by gifting her with a complimentary 45-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Tracie practices at 224 West Main Street in Dothan, Alabama.
