Attorney Marcus Whatley of Northport, AL; liar, repeat offender

The state of Alabama presented Marcus Lavon Whatley with law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Marcus guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Made material misrepresentation (lied) during court hearing
  • Submitted unsigned affidavit containing false statements
  • Attempted to coerce secretary to sign false affidavit
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Marcus!)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Marcus’ First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Marcus by gifting him with a complimentary 91-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2018 2016), Marcus' status is that of a special member who is not presently involved in the practice of law; however accoring to the State Bar he continues to reside in Northport, Alabama.
