Judge Ruslan Yakubayev of Moscow, Russia; suspected of bribery

It should be noted that President Vladimir Putin appointed Yakubayev to the post of federal judge in 2014. Yakubayev didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified legal mind in Moscow. He received it because Putin perceived him to be a reliable judicial lackey.

In one matter, The Investigative Committee of Moscow has opened a bribery case against Judge Yakubayev of the Kuzminsky District Court. Permission to embark on the investigation was granted by the board of Moscow judges.

All that remains now is to see how long it takes before Judge Yakubayev cops a plea in order to reduce the amount of time he’ll have to spend in prison.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Yakubayev continues to sit as Kuzminsky District Court at 8/13 Zelenodolskaya Street in Moscow, Russia.
