Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy: Today’s “Deadbeat” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy

Today’s “Deadbeat” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Phyllis. In the past, he has been the recipient of four (4) Awards in various categories and/or the subject of three (3) various award pieces. Those awards and award pieces are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

Cliven Bundy owns and operates a cattle ranch in southern Nevada. For the past twenty (20) years, Bundy has refused to pay the federal government about $1 million for the costs of his cattle grazing on federal lands.

Bundy laughingly claims that since he doesn’t recognize the legitimacy of the federal government he doesn’t have to pay any grazing fees. He continued this illegal conduct despite three court orders to pay the grazing fees he owned to the government.

The government then went about seizing Bundy’s cattle in order to sell them to satisfy in whole or part the $1 million he owed. This later led to a bunch of right-wing losers, many of them armed, descending on Bundy’s ranch in order to confront government agents and to prevent them from doing their jobs.

To assure there would no loss of life, government agents left the area and allowed Bundy’s cattle to be released for the time being.

If you refused to pay your federal income taxes for 20 years, you’d likely be residing in a federal penitentiary. At a minimum, the government would have foreclosed on your home and seized all of your property and garnished your wages.

Mr. Bundy is nothing more than a whacked out lunatic that believes he can thumb his nose at the law and avoid paying what he owes to the government to fatten up his cattle for the last 20 years.

Bundy’s illegal conduct is in stark contrast to that of the thousands of cattlemen in Nevada and throughout the West and Southwest that have complied with the law and paid the government the grazing fees they incurred.

Congrats Cliven; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Deadbeats”; you are far too humble.
