Judge Thomas Hughes of Searcy, AR; ethical goblin, scofflaw

The state of Arkansas provided Thomas M. Hughes with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the St. Louis University Law School.

The Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to perform all duties fairly and impartially
  • Failed to allow every person who has a legal interest in a judicial proceeding and/or that person’s lawyer the right to be heard according to law (due process)
  • Failed to act with courtesy and respect to those persons unfortunate enough to have been required to appear in his so-called courtroom
  • Failed to comply with applicable laws in denying a person his constitutional due process rights regarding a contempt matter
  • Imposed an unprecedented (sham) monetary sanction on an attorney

Apparently, Tommy belives that "due process" is the means by which the grass becomes moist in the a.m.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Conduct Commission punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Johnny continues to sit as a 17th Judicial Circuit Court Judicial Commissioner in Searcy, Arkansas.
