Former Judge Nicki Boland of Jackson, MS; ethical troll

The state of Mississippi provided Nicki M. Boland 1980 with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law.

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Nicki guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, while she was employed as a Hinds County Justice Court judge.

• Nicki abused the power of her judicial office by exceeding the powers granted in the Mississippi Code
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Brought her judicial office into disrepute
• Illegally imposed a sentence of 12 months involving domestic violence matter when the law limited the sentence to6 months
• Failed to uphold the integrity and independence of the judiciary
• Improperly ordered the incarceration of a defendant as opposed to requiring him to post bond was clearly an abuse of Nicki's power as a judge
• Failed to respect and comply with the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to be faithful to the law and maintain professional competence in it
• Failed to be patient, dignified, and courteous to litigants, jurors, witnesses, lawyers, and others with whom he dealt with in his official capacity
• Failed to accord to all who are legally interested in a proceeding, or their lawyers, the right to be heard according to law (aka, due process)
• Failed to dispose of all judicial matters promptly, efficiently and fairly
• Failed to diligently discharge the judge's administrative responsibilities without bias or prejudice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Nicki by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand, a $4,250.00.00 fine, and assessed ethics investigative costs of $3,532.06.

As we speak (ca. May 2021) Nicki practices her brand of law at 2018 Meadowbrook Road in Jackson, Mississippi.
