Judge Marion McKenzie of Tylertown, MS; ticket fixing loser

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Marion guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a little ticket-fixing
  • Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communications party and/or parties attorney
  • Involved himself in various cases assigned to another judge
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Compromised the integrity of the judiciary
  • By fixing tickets, Marion deprived the state of a fair opportunity to exercise its legitimate interests in punishing offenders of the law
  • Engaged in willful misconduct in office

As one would suspect, this isn’t Marion’s First bite at the Judicial Misconduct Apple Tree. He previously disciplined for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Marion by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Marion continues to sit as a Walthall County Justice court judge in Tylertown, Mississippi.
