Judge Timothy Langford of Hickman, KY; ethical gremlin

The state of Kentucky presented Timothy A. Langford with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School.

The Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission found Timmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Repeatedly engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) discussions with litigants
  • Allowed a non-party to a pending action to approach him
  • Entered an order allowing perpetrator of domestic violence to visit with his children even though prior domestic violence order prohibited such visitations
  • Allowed visitation of domestic abuser w/o ever giving notice to the victim of the abuse that he was going to so act
  • Failed to comply with and respect the law (scofflaw)
  • Violated party’s due process rights by failing to afford them an opportunity to be heard
  • Failed to dispose of judicial matters fairly

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Timmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2014), Timmy continues to sit as a Hickman County Circuit Court Judge in Hickman, Kentucky, which is about 90 miles northeast of Paducah.
