Judge Robert Conley of Greenup, KY; ethical troll

The state of Kentucky presented Robert B. Conley with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Northern Kentucky University School of Law.

The Judicial Conduct Commission found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

FYI: Bobby has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-five (2) years. Apparently, no self-respect law firm in the greater Greenup area was about to offer him a good paying

  • During revocation hearing in flagrant non-support case, after listening to the defendant explain why had not made required payments, Bobby advised him to “shut up”
  • After Bobby asked the defendant who was responsible for keeping up with the payments, he cut him off, banged his gavel and ordered the bailiff to “send him to jail”
  • Failed conduct required hearing or make written finding of contempt
  • Bobby intemperately admonished everyone in the courtroom that speaking over him was contemptuous and would be treated by him as contempt of court
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Failed to perform judicial duties fairly and impartially
  • Failed to be patient, dignified, and courteous to litigants

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits and Aspiring Standup Comedians sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Bobby continues to sit as 20th Judicial Circuit Judge in Greenup, Kentucky.
