Retired Judge Jerry Stokes of Andalusia, AL; lackey for Chief Justice Roy Moore
The state of Alabama presented Jerry Evan Stokes with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from New York University (NYU) Law School.
After former Chief Justice Ray Moore was removed from office for instructing Alabama judges to ignore a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage, Jerry decided to don a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads for the purpose of genuflecting in Ray Moore’s honor while decrying his removal from office.
Jerry signed onto a brief in support of Roy Moore that was filed with a special Alabama Supreme Court that will hear Moore’s specious appeal.
Jerry contends that the Alabama Court of the Judiciary circumvented a rule that required a unanimous vote to remove a judge from office and instead suspended Roy Moore for the balance of his term.
In his laughable brief, Jerry said in part:
So here we have a Moore apologist claiming the removal of Moore was due to his religious viewpoint and basically a violation of the law.
However, Jerry apparently has no problem with Moore thumbing his nose at a Federal judges’ order that he remove a Ten Commandments monument from the courthouse. The same is true of Moore’s thumbing of his nose at the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling regarding same sex marriage.
Hopefully, Roy Moore reimbursed Jerry for the costs he incurred in purchasing a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads to pay homage to the Right Reverend Roy Moore.
As we speak (ca. December 2016), Jerry practices law at 14748 FM Jones Road in Andalusia, Alabama. |
