Chief Justice Donald Beatty (SC); cheerleader for convicted attorney Perverts

The state of South presented Donald W. Beatty with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from University of South Carolina School of Law.

In one matter, it was Donnie’s responsibility to review the second ethics complaint involving attorney Jacob Parrott who was previously convicted pulling down a woman’s bathing suit while she was sunbathing at or near Surfside Beach and to render a decision on the future status of his law license.

In this instance, Jake the Perv was convicted of using a cell phone to take a picture up a woman’s skirt in a grocery store.

Knowing that Jake was a serial convicted pervert, Donnie voted to punish him by suspending his law license for 9-months rather than voting to have him permanently disbarred. As one would suspect, Donnie was arrested and convicted of another criminal act involving indecent exposure several months later.

Apparently, when imposing a 9-month suspension of his license, Donnie believed Jake the Perv had a constitutional right in South Carolina to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

And lastly, to no one’s surprise, Jake was subsequently arrested a third time for exposing his genitals and masturbating in public.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Donnie continues to sit as the Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court in Columbia, South Carolina.
