Judge John McCullough of Raleigh; convicted drunk

The state of North Carolina presented John Douglas McCullough with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The North Carolina Judicial Standards Commissionon Judicial Performance found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny was stopped by the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Carteret County for speeding on Highway 58. Johnny was arrested and charged with speeding and driving under the influence (DUI)

Subsequently, Johnny pled guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to 24 months of supervisions and ordered to obtain a substance abuse assessment and complete any recommended education or treatment.

An unreliable source indicated that Johnny opted to enroll in the Mel Gibson Institute for Drunks located in Hollywood, California.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Johnny continues to sit as North Carolina Court of Appeals judge (when sober) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
