Judge Bradley Cavedo of Richmond, VA; bigoted loser

The state of Virginia provided Bradley B. Cavedo with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Judge Cavedo is the Bigot who granted two injunctions in a challenge to Virginia’s plan to take down the Robert E. Lee statue on Monument Avenue and delivered an injunction in a case against Mayor Levar Stoney over the removal of city-owned Confederate statues.

Unbelievably, Judge Cavedo, who lives in the Monument Avenue Historic District, recused himself last week from the cases, saying he was unaware that he lived in the district. Only a Monumental Buffoon (my sincerest apologies to Buffoons) would have the chutzpah to claim he was unaware of the neighborhood he resided in.

Based on Judge Cavedo’s conduct, attorney David P. Baugh, filed an ethics complaint for presiding over confederate statute cases despite his home being in the same neighborhood as the monuments.

In his ethics complaint, Mr. Baugh said in part:

  • “Due to this judge’s recent behavior, both on and off of the bench, there is a concern, the concern of all practitioners of the legal craft, for the perceptions of impropriety and the appearance of impropriety on the part of the judiciary by this judge.”
  • “This proximity of his residence to the monuments raises concerns about his impartiality.”

In addition, Mr. Baugh cited an editorial Brad the Bigot (BB) wrote in 1977 while he was a student at the University of Richmond that criticized President Jimmy Carter’s instant voter registration plan, saying it would “allow the parasites of this nation to become the dominating force in politics.”

Mr. Baugh continued on in his ethic complaint by stating:

  • “It is evident that Judge Cavedo continues to suffer from his bias and prejudices articulated while a student at the University of Richmond.”
  • “Regardless of Judge Cavedo’s failure to recuse himself from the Confederate statue cases, his values and prejudices, as evidenced by his writing, historical and recent, construct a mindset which should never influence any judicial position.”

As one would suspect, BB responded to Mr. Baugh’s complaint by making the following hyperbolic (BS) statement.

  • “He complains about something I said 43 years ago in college.”
  • “That college kid did not exist after 1977.”

Judge Cavedo reminds me of the Bigot that defended his use of the “N” word by saying what all dyed-in-the-wool Southern bigots say, which is as follows.

“That’s not true. I have a (one) friend that is a Negro.”

And that friend was likely the African American at the Richmond International Airport that shined his shoes before he flew off for his annual vacation at Stone Mountain, Georgia.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Brad the Bigot by the enablers for Judicial Misfits and Bigots sitting on the Virginia Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Brad the Bigot continues to sit on the bench as a Richmond Circuit Court judge in Richmond, Virginia.
