Judge Jeffrey Bagley of Cumming, GA; ethical troll

The state of Georgia provided Jeffrey S. Bagley with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Emory University School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Roy Barnes appointed Jeff as a superior court judge in 2000. Jeff did not receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Forsyth County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

David West, a medically vulnerable criminal defense lawyer, filed an ethics complaint with the state Judicial Qualifications Commission against Superior Court Chief Judge Jeff Bagley over possible violations of emergency orders issued by the state Supreme Court's chief justice.

In his ethics complaint, Mr. West stated that Judge Bagley failed to make “reasonable accommodations for lawyers” during the COVID- judicial emergency.

Mr. West relied on a judicial emergency order issued by Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold D. Melton in September stating that all courts “should continue to use and increase the use of technology to conduct remote judicial proceedings as a safer alternative to in-person proceedings, unless required by law to be in person” or if it is not practicable for some reason to do so remotely.

Mr. West stated in his complaint that his doctor has advised him to shelter in place and avoid public spaces whenever possible.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Judge Bagley by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. December 2020), Jeffrey continues to sit as the Chief Judge for Forsyth County in Cumming, Georgia.
