Judge Eric Lucas of Everett, WA; ethical ogre

The state of Washington presented Eric Z. Lucas with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Harvard University School of Law.

FYI: Eric has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-four (34) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Everett area.

The Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

• Sent two emails to Everett city officials opposing building permit sought by one of Eric’s neighbors
• In his two emails to city officials, Eric improperly identified himself as a Snohomish County Superior Court Judge
• Abused the prestige of his judicial office for personal gain
• Failed to uphold the integrity of the judiciary
• Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety
• Failed to act in manner that promotes public confidence in the judiciary
• Failed to act with integrity and impartiality

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. July 2020), Eric continues to sit as a Snohomish County Superior Court Judge in Seattle, Washington.
