Since winning the election in early November 2016, Donald “Trumporleone” Trump has repeatedly taken credit for job increases in various industries that he had nothing to do with. Put simply, he enjoys lying that the jobs were only created because of his direct intervention, etc.
However, if The Don is so quick to take credit for job increases that he had nothing to do with, then why doesn’t he take credit for announced job losses after he won the presidency? In other words, what’s fair for the goose “job increases” should be good for the gander “job losses.”
On March 13, 2017, Gordmans Stores Inc., a one-hundred-year-old discount department store chain, filed for bankruptcy. In its bankruptcy filing, it announced plans to liquidate its inventory and all its assets. It also announced that the closure of its 100 stores in 22 states would lead to the loss of 5,100 jobs.
As a minimum, The Don could blame the 5,100-job loss on President Obama, right? After all, he blames Obama for just about everything except the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
And lastly, what’s to stop The Don from claiming that Obama was responsible for the closing of the Wisconsin Steelworks in Chicago in 1980 causing the loss of nearly 1,000 jobs even though Obama was born in 1962?
