GOP announces offer to fund Benghazi Committee

Recent (September/October 2015) news reports clearly indicate that the so-called Benghazi Select Committee headed by Rep. Trey Goudy of South Carolina is in business for the sole purpose of damaging Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency in 2016.

This fact has been established via the admission by Rep. McCarthy that the committee has been responsible for lowering Clinton’s approval ratings. It is further proven to be a political hit job by the recent revelations by former committee investigator Bradley Podliska.

In addition, Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) further confirmed that the committee is a total sham when commenting on New York’s WIBX 950 as to McCarthy’s admission by saying:

  • “Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in D.C. is to tell the truth.”

The Select (Sham) Committee has been in business longer than the following House committee investigations.

  • Hurricane Katrina
  • Pearl Harbor
  • Assassination of President Kennedy
  • Iran-Contra

With 13 months to go before the 2016 president election, Rep. Goudy and his troupe of biased losers will have been in business for two-and-a-half years. The committee has already wasted $4.5 million in taxpayer funds as we speak (October 2015).

With the public tiring of this ongoing sham and the likelihood that the costs could approach $10 million before the 2016 election, the GOP felt compelled to offer to financially fund all costs incurred by the committee through the 2016 election with the caveat that if Hillary loses, funding will be immediately discontinued.

The GOP will have no problem with financing future committee costs since it can rely on the Koch brothers and those of their ilk to cough up the necessary cash. However, if Hillary wins, the Kochs, et al. will continue to fund the committee in hopes of impeaching her.

And lastly, isn’t it comforting to know that your tax dollars are being spent in this manner. Democrats, Independents and even level-headed Republicans should be upset that their hard earned money is being wasted in this manner.
