Attorney James Guinan of Dallas; bully, serial offender

The state of Texas presented James L. Guinan with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.

The District 6 Grievance Committee found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Threatened to present criminal charges for the sole purpose of gaining an advantage in connection with a civil matter
  • Threatened to file criminal charges against the person that filed an ethics complaint against him to prevent that person’s participation in the disciplinary process

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) complimentary stayed suspensions of his law license.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2015), Jimmy practices at 5005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas.
