Attorney Anthony Brooklier of Los Angeles; serial tax cheat
The state of California provided Anthony Phillip Brooklier with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Loyola Marymount University Law School in Los Angeles.
The California State Bar found Tony guilty of the following misconduct
In one matter,Tony was convicted of two counts of failing to file income tax returns. Over the period of six years, Tony failed to file tax returns and when contacted by the IRS, he filed for four years, but never paid the taxes. He then failed to file his tax returns for another five years.
Tony also did not file or pay California state income taxes totaling more than $100,000 of a nine-year period of time.
In another matter, Tony was arrested and pleaded no contest to reckless driving.
Brooklier also did not file or pay state income taxes totaling more than $100,000 between 1985 and 1996, a period during which he periodically used cocaine. He was arrested in 1990 on suspicion of drunk driving and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless driving.
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. February 2015), Tony practices with Marks & Brooklier at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, California. |
