Attorney Gary Courtois of Upper Marlboro, MD; felon, druggie

The State of Maryland presented Gary Alan Courtois with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Maryland Law School. The District of Columbia presented Gary with a law license in 198o.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Gary guilty of the following misconduct.

• Pled guilty to one count of felony tax evasion
• Charged with possession of cocaine in Prince George’s County

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Maryland Supreme Court punished Johnny by ordering that he be disbarred.

Several years later the comedians sitting on the Maryland Supreme Court voted to reinstate Johnny’s law license. Apparently, they were of the firm conviction that Johnny had an absolute right to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

As we speak (ca. April 2016), Johnny practices at 5407 Water Street in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
