Koch brothers spending $900 million to purchase politicians

In an effort to further cement their status as Humanitarians, the Koch brothers have recently (January 2015) announced that they and/or their fellow millionaires and billionaires will spend nearly $1 billion in the run-up to the November 2016 elections. Put simply, they intend on spending about $45 million each month.

Because of their right wing friends on the Supreme Court, the Koch brothers will be able to conceal the names of their millionaire/billionaire friends that will be contributing to the purchase of the U.S. Congress and the next President.

The brothers made their altruistic announcement during a morning session at the Rancho Mirage, California Ritz Carlton.

During a Saturday night welcome speech, Charlie Koch called the November 2015 midterms elections “an important step in slowing down the march toward collectivism.” He went on to implore the assembled millionaires and billionaires to dig deep heading into the 2016 election.

Charlie’s assertion that we’re “marching toward collectivism” is pure BS. Collectivism is defined as a political or economic theory advocating collective rather than individual action or identity. Of course no such things is going on here in the U.S. of A.

Charlie and his well-heeled friends are only concerned with gutting any regulations that would prevent them polluting the waterways and air and/or from operating legal casinos on Wall Street at taxpayer expense.

There are presently 54 Republican members of the US Senate. To prevent any filibusters by Democrats, the GOP needs to reach 60 members. Therefore, if the Koch brothers spent 25% of the $900 million dollars ($225 million) to purchase the Senate, they would need to spend on average $37.5 million to purchase 6 more senators.

Since the House is safely in GOP hands, the Koch brothers wouldn’t need to spend any money to purchase additional members. Therefore, the remaining $675 million could be spent to viciously and unmercifully attack Hillary Clinton if she runs.

If the Koch brothers succeed in purchasing the Senate and the Presidency in 2016, we should be witness to the near demise of the EPA and Bank regulations. In addition, tax rates for billionaires and millionaires would likely be reduced by 10% or more. Isn’t it gratifying to know that your Congressman is willing to do the bidding of the Koch braothers?

Maybe it would be more entertaining if the Koch brothers sponsored a game show for purchasing members of Congress based on “The Price is Right.”
