DA Stacy Miller of Bellefonte, PA; ethical misfit

The state of Pennyslvania presented Stacy Parks Miller with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from Duquesne University Law School.

Stacy is the elected Centre County Pennsylvania District Attorney. In January 2015, she was accused of forging a judge’s signature on a fake court order.

Centre County Commissioner Michael Pipe said he first learned of the sham affidavit when he was made aware of it from a former county employee. The affidavit is is signed by Michelle Shutt, who identifies herself as a former paralegal to DA Miller. (StateCollege.com)

Ms. Shutt alleged that DA Miller ordered her to review old court orders signed by Judge Pamela Ruest and then write a fake order that would closely resemble existing documents. Shutt claimed that she then witnessed DA Miller sign the fake order before ordering her to file the forged documents in the Centre County Prothonotary’s Office.

As one would suspect, DA Miller vigorously denied that she engaged in such conduct; however, one can’t give much credence to said denial since her lips were moving at the time.

It was also reported that the Pennsylvania Office of Disciplinary Counsel was looking into these allegations of misconduct.

All that’s left now is to see how much time passes before DA Miller cops a plea and admits to her wrongdoing.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Ms. Miller continues to sit as the Centre County DA in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
