Judge Stanley Allen of Wentworth, NC; ethical leprechaun

The state of North Carolina presented Stanley L. Allen with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Campbell University School of Law.

Former Gov. Mike Easley was duped into appointing Stanley as a District Court judge in 2005. Stanley didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Rockingham County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission found Judge Allen guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct bring judicial office into disrepute
  • Improperly order magistrate to set unsecured bond for Stan’s form client
  • Arranged for bail bond firm to post bond on former client’s behalf
  • Asked Chief District Judge to “go easy” on former client when setting bond
  • Advised Chief Judge needed client out of jail so he could perform air conditioning work for Stanley
  • Signed illegal ex part (one-sided) order granting former client emergency temporary custody of minor children in a pending case

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the North Carolina State Supreme Court punished Stan by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. January 2015) Stan continues to sit as a District Court Judge in Wentworth, North Carolina.
