Attorney Marvin Schiff of Cleveland; ethical leprechaun

The state of Ohio presented Marvin Hermann Schiff with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Marv guilty of misconduct.

  • Provided improperly worded fee agreements to clients
  • Failed to obtain client consent as to manner in which fees would be divided
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Improperly held himself out as having a partnership
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Faield to provide client with closing statement detailing calculation of fees
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Marv by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Matty.

As we speak (ca. December 2014) Marv practices with the Schiff Law Offices LLC at 5910 Landerbrook Drive in Cleveland, Ohio.
