Attorney Mattheuw Oberholtzer of Canton, OH; ethical elf

The state of Ohio presented Mattheuw William Oberholtzer with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Akron Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Matty guilty of misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Matty!)
  • Failed to act with due diligence
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to adequately respond to client requests for information

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Matty.

As we speak (ca. December 2014) Matty practices Oberholtzer & Oberholtzer at 116 Cleveland Avenue NW in Canton, Ohio.
