Attorney Mark Cantu of McAllen, TX; ethical leprechaun

The state of Texas presented Mark A. Cantu with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Houston Law School.

The District 12 Grievance Committee found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to comply with client requests for information
  • Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to allow client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Participated in presenting or threatening to present criminal or disciplinary charges solely to gain an advantage in a civil case

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 15-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mark.

As we speak (ca. December 2014), Mark practices with the Law Office of Mark Cantu at 801 West Nolana Avenue in McAllen, Texas.
