Attorney Jose Becerra of Laredo; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Jose Angel Becerra with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Houston Law School.

The District 12 Grievance Committee found Jose guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected client matters entrusted to him
• Failed to communicate with clients
• Failed to hold client funds in separate trust account
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests after being fired

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Lee by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jose.
