Attorney Spencer Schwartz of Chicago; cheating loser

The state of Illinois presented Spencer William Schwartz with a law license in 1961.

The Disciplinary Commission found Spencer guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Breached fiduciary duty to client by billing her for the time his son spent reviewing medical records in client’s case
  • Assisted non-attorney in the illegal practice of law
  • During deposition never advised opposing counsel that the witness was his son
  • Collected an unreasonable fee by charging client a fee in excess of that allowed by law for settling case in Court of Claims

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Spence by gifting him with a complimentary 12-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Spencer practices at 145 Arrowwood Drive in Northbrook, Illinois.

Warning: Spencer does not carry legal malpractice insurance
