Attorney M. Thomas Norwood III of Cornelius, NC; ethical elf

The state of North Carolina presented M. Thomas Norwood with a law license in 1984.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Norwood with the following misconduct.

  • Abandoned several clients
  • Made false representations to a federal court
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonest, deceit, misrepresentation or fabrication
  • Failed to obtain court permission to withdraw from client representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests
  • Made frivolous (BS) argument to trial court
  • Prolonged litigation to detriment of clients
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Actions reflect lack of trustworthiness

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Norwood by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Norwood practices at 19701 Bethel Church Road in Cornelius, North Carolina.
