Attorney M. Thomas Norwood III of Cornelius, NC; ethical elf
The state of North Carolina presented M. Thomas Norwood with a law license in 1984.
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Norwood with the following misconduct.
- Abandoned several clients
- Made false representations to a federal court
- Engaged in conduct involving dishonest, deceit, misrepresentation or fabrication
- Failed to obtain court permission to withdraw from client representation
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests
- Made frivolous (BS) argument to trial court
- Prolonged litigation to detriment of clients
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
- Actions reflect lack of trustworthiness
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Norwood by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. November 2014) Norwood practices at 19701 Bethel Church Road in Cornelius, North Carolina.
