Attorney James Vaughan of Winston Salem; ethical misfit

The state of North Carolina presented James E. Vaughan with a law license in 1984.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Jimmy with the following misconduct.

  • Assisted New York law firm in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Made misleading (false) communications by allowing his name to be included in demand letters sent by New York firm when he had no active role in representation

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Jimmy by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Jimmy practices with Blanco Tackabery & Matamoros in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
