Judge Sheila Manning of Detroit; lazy loser

The state of Michigan presented Sheila Ann Gibson Manning with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission found Judge Manning guilty of the following misconduct.

Sheila found it acceptable to collect her paycheck despite the fact that was repeatedly tardy in appearing in her courtroom in Detroit.

During a one-week period of time in October 2012, Sheila arrived at court after 10:00 a.m. and then left around 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. By so acting, Sheila left parties waiting in her courtroom as early as 9:00 a.m.

In a lame attempt at levity, Sheila laughingly defended her tardiness by citing “family reasons. Apparently, Sheila missed her calling as a standup comedian.

As a consequent of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Surpeme Court punished Sheila by gifting her with a 30-day unpaid suspension from her judgeship.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Lazy Sheila remains sitting as a Wayne County District Court judge on the Third Circuit in Detroit, Michigan.
