Judge Joseph Teresi of Albany, NY; bully, repeat offender

The state of New York presented Joseph with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Albany Law School.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Teresi guilty of the following misconduct.

Joey’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in injudicious, impatient and discourteous conduct during discussions during attempts by the parties to settle the case
  • Pointedly excluded a female attorney from a chambers conference
  • Used colorful language in trying to force a settlement
  • Belittled attorneys in the presence of their clients
  • Repeatedly violated the constitutional rights of a third party defendant
  • Granted default judgment v. unrepresented party (pro se) despite the fact that the party was not in default
  • Abused his judicial power by improperly sentencing a party to six months in jail for refusing his order that the party sign a property deed
  • Engaged in illegal (one-sided) conversations with parties in pending case
  • Manifested total bias against pro se (unrepresented) parties
  • Held parties in contempt w/o affording them a hearing
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Justice on Albany Supreme Court since 1994

Joey’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications with witness
  • Ex parte comments to potential witness led to witness not testifying at trial
  • Failed in duty to place ex part communication with potential witness on the record
  • Improperly denied defense motion for additional witness to replace witness he caused to not testify due to his ex parte communications

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct punished Joey by gifting him with yet another complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Joey remains sitting as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Albany County in Albany, New York.
