Attorney Rick Steinberg of Brookfield, WI; lying loser

The state of Wisconsin presented Rick David Steinberg with a law license in 1997 after he graduated Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Ricky guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to hold client funds in trust account
• Converted (stole) client trust funds to own personal use
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Issued several checks on insufficient fund account (rubber)
• Failed to maintain appropriate subsidiary ledger
• Failed to maintain monthly schedule of ledger
• Failed to keep complete records of trust account funds
• Filed certificates with State Bar falsely stating he was in compliance with record-keeping requirements

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Ricky by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
