Attorney Douglas Batt of Milwaukee; ethical gremlin

The state of Wisconsin presented Douglas E. Batt with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Valparaiso University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

·        Wrote check on insufficient account (rubber)

·        Recordkeeping errors regarding trust account

·        Improperly deposited earned fees and rent income into trust account

·        Audit discovered several trust account recordkeeping deficiencies

·        Failed to identify source of deposits to transaction register

·        Failed to identify client associated with deposits or disbursements

·        Failed to regularly reconcile trust accounts as required to do

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Doug practices with the Law Offices of Douglas E. Batt at 2266 North Prospect Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
