Attorney Laura Schwefel of Brookfield, WI; ethical dwarf

The state of Wisconsin presented Laura Ruth Schwefel with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Laura guilty of the following misconduct.

·        Failed to safeguard client funds

·        Inaccurate assertions as to ownership of apartment complex

·        Actions as trustee cause court to issue order for her to cease such conduct

·        Failed to make thorough inventory of client assets

·        Failed to document disposition of client property

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Laura by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
