Judge Johnnie Walls Jr. of Greenville, MS; ethical misfit

The state of Mississippi presented Gail P. Thompson with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School.

The Mississippi Judicial Commission found Johnnie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Ignored well established court procedures
  • Neglected duties owed to client
  • Failed to provide client record to new attorney
  • Allowed client’s case to languish on court docket for over one year
  • Failed to respond to numerous calls from Federal District Court Clerk
  • Failed to file appellate brief on client’s behalf
  • Failed to take steps to acquire trial transcript for client for appellate purposes

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Johnnie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Johnnie continues to sit as a Circuit Court Judge in Greenville, Mississippi.
