Attorney Lisa Winer of Rockville, MD; ethical misfit

The state of Maryland presented Lisa I. Winer with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School. Beth was also provided with a law license by the District of Columbia in 1988.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Lisa guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to notify opposing counsel client unavailable for scheduled deposition
  • Failed to take proper steps to protect client’s interests
  • Failed to promptly postpone hearing due to client being out-of-state to receive medical treatments
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to advise client of implications for failure to appear at hearing on client’s pending claims

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme Court punished Lisa by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Lisa practices at 33 Wood Lane in Rockville, Maryland.
