Judge Seth Peacock of Ithaca, NY: ethical dwarf

The state of New York provided Seth J. Peacock with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from Cornell University Law School.

In early 2014, Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick was duped into appointing Seth as a judge on the Ithaca City Court. Seth didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

It appears that Judge Peacock may well have violated Judicial Rules of Conduct that prohibit judges from any political activity outside their own campaigns.

Seth is involved in an election on November 4, 2014 for the judicial position he was appointed to by Mayor Myrick.

Seth appeared at a political rally in Ithaca on October 15 for Howie Hawkins, Green Party candidate for governor. He openly endorsed Hawkins in a brief speech that was captured on YouTube.” (The Ithaca Voice)

As Seth clearly knew, the administrative rules of New York’s court system clearly prohibits “public endorsing or publicly opposing (other than by running against) another candidate for public office” — or, for that matter, making political speeches or attending political rallies for a cause other than one’s own election.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct has yet to file ethics charges against Seth. However, it is plainly clear that no charges will be filed prior to the November 4, 2014 election. And when and if charges are filed against Seth, he can be assured at the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Commission will at worst gift him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Seth continues to sit as a City Court Judge in Ithaca, New York. In addition, Seth also practices law at 308 North Tioga Street in Ithaca.
