Attorney David Newell of Bossier City, LA; crooked loser

The state of Louisiana presented David M. Newell with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
• Failed to refund unearned fees (crook)
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Converted (stole) client and third-party funds
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Walt.
