Attorney Raymond Hamlin of Newark, NJ; ethical elf

The state of Pennsylvania presented Raymond Louis Hamlin with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Ethics found Ray guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Attempted to collect $50,000 hourly fee from client after entering into contingency fee agreement
  • Failed to reduce to writing terms of fee agreement
  • Tried to collect $50,000 fee even though client’s lawsuit dismissed on defendant’s successful motion for summary judgment

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Ray by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Ray practices with Hunt, Hamlin & Ridley at 60 Park Place in Newark, New Jersey.
