Attorney Joseph Halbur of Carroll, IA; ethical misfit

The state of Iowa provided Joseph Edward Halbur with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  • Prematurely withdrew fees before final report on estate was made in violation of professional rules
  • Failed to return numerous client phone calls

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Joey practices at 621 North Clark Street in Carroll, Iowa.
